Hi, I’m Diane DeBell — the artist behind DeBell Designs.

After spending nearly 30 years in Chicago, I woke up one morning knowing it was time to follow a long-held dream and live by the ocean. It didn’t take much convincing, and three months later my husband and I made the move to the beach — a decision I’m deeply grateful for.

I’m also a mom to three daughters, a dog lover to two pups, and a special education teacher for most of my career — a role that shaped how I see the world and the importance of kindness, patience, and connection.

Today, I create hand-illustrated greeting cards and surface pattern designs inspired by beach life, travel, nature, and the small moments that quietly make a day better. Long walks near the water, colors discovered while traveling, and beauty found in everyday rituals all find their way into my work.

Each design is created with intention—meant to help you slow down, celebrate thoughtfully, and share something meaningful with the people you care about most.
